      These things are awesome. very loud when they go off and I could hear it easily from 20 yards away from my pole. Also very sensitive that even a bluegill will trip it. But one of the alarms wasn’t working, made a quiet click and a flash of the LED and it was it. Was fine since I’m only allow 2 poles in the state I live in. High quality and already came with batteries.

      These are very very loud for being such a small item. I bought these with the intent on using them catfishing but if you got weight on your line obviously it will trip the spin mechanism so you go to first clamp the line through the rubber grips and your rod just enough to get the line to hold while fishing in current then run it through the spin trip mechanism and it will work like a charm.

      I bought these for catfishing as my son and I run six rods when catfishing. Two of my reels are bait casters with built in clicker style bite alerts so we dont use these on them, but on our spinning rods they are awesome. They are so sensitive they detect bites from tiny little fish nibbling the bait. When a fish actually takes the bait the alarm will sound and the led light up and continue until the fish let’s go or you turn it off. The light is bright enough to be seen from twenty plus yards in the day light, and fifty plus yards at night. They can be heard from over 75 yards easily. I will be buying more. It is more cost effective to buy more alerts than to buy batteries…

I plan to use them in the river when the shad and stripers are running up the river at night, then I can give a better assessment of how sensitive these are to the tide and debrit that floats by. So far they seem like they are great, but in the night time application in tidal water, I still need to see how it all works out.

      Well,for good part of yesterday i didn’t need these.They were biting so well/fast that i could only use 2 rods!But later at night got slow & i wondered around.heard one go off,ran to it,landed 12 lb or so Blue Cat!This morning used them again.Got two more huge cats using them.I got two exited on one strike & knocked off the Bite Alert.Looked around,in water,etc no sign of it.About 30 mins later spotted it in 8 inches or so of water at the bank.Got my net,scooped it up,took batteries out right away.Figured it’s fried….NOPE,just put new batteries in it,works GREAT! Could hardly believe it! Love these Alerts!

      I was not expecting these things to startle me, but here we are. My kids have taken to running around the house making believe that they have caught a fish and I can hear this thing’s persistent wailing through the walls and ceiling. I don’t consider this to be a negative as I’ve given it top stars but I’d LOVE to have a volume control on this to lower it down for times when I’d like to be gently reminded that there is a fish on rather than punched in the face.Works great!

      After some extensive use, Im a little mixed on these. While they work decent some nights, on others they are so sensitive they go off all the time, and for no reason. And forget using them on a boat. For that I use the kids chemlite brackets and zip ties.

      Finally a loud alarm! I¡¯m an angler who likes the alarm mounted on the rod while on the go and choosing spots. This means my rods tend to be far apart. These alarms are so loud that just about everyone at the creek will know you have hooked a fish. I¡¯ve tried to throw this off of my rod while casting and it sticks like a charm.       Four alarms for $15 sounds great but what if they never help? If you set your rod and reel with loose drag, the alarm will never trigger. If you set the drag too tight, the slightest gust of wind might set it off. One time i noticed something was peeling drag but the alarm never went off. So i don¡¯t think you¡¯re supposed to set your drag looseI¡¯ll update this review if i use them in the summer for bass fishing. Maybe they¡¯ll be more useful for that when fishing free line with live bait.

      Bite Sound Alarm Alert is easy to use, emitting a piercing sound that can be heard from a fair distance.The flashing blue light is great at night.It’s a must have item for serious fishermen at a reasonable price.The only negative is: replacing the batteries is very difficult.       I went catfishing at my local lake and decided to try this fish alarm. Normally I used fishing bells to alert me that a fish is on. After casting my line in the water and like most of us who have smartphones you’ll be surfing the net, playing games, etc., basically we’re pretty much distracted right?My fish alarm goes off and I just chuckled & shook my head while reeling in a 4lb. catfish. The second alert was I was walking a way to get something from the car and hear this alarm and said to myself who’s stupid alarm is that? WAIT!! it’s my stupid alarm…LOL. A fisherman who was maybe 80-100 feet away from me, came up and said, “dang I heard you alarm.” So he asked where I got it and name of the brand. This will be perfect for night fishing too. The wind started to pick, but my alarm did not go off, which was a good thing.Cons: Have spare batteries on hand, you will need a rod holder to keep your rod firm and steady, only one alarm tune, no volume settings or tension settings. If you have an ultralight fishing rod, you will most likely need to bulk up the area where you plan to attach this alarm.Pros: You can take a nap, play with your smartphones, read a book, daydream, and this will really come handy for night fishing (the blue LED light will flash if you have a fish on), alarm is loud enough to be heard 50 feet away. Although it does not have a volume settings or tension setting it was not a deal breaker for me, why? The product worked at least for bank fishing.Four devices for under $20 was worth it. I would recommend this to family and friends. Happy fishing folks and don’t be alarmed when you have a fish on.

      This is great for fish that are big. Small fish that bite and pull on the line don’t set it off at all. They have to be bigger that a bluegill or rockbass to sound the alarm. Other than that these work great.
