Mr Wizard Nerd of all Trades –
I ordered this cause I go out on hikes with my fishing rod. And sometimes i just want to sit back and relax. The holder is stable and hold my rod perfectly. You can adjust the angle quite easily. And it sticks in the ground nicely. In fact a few people have asked me where I got it.
Rob –
These turned out to be a solid, well-builtpair of rod holders.
Mikael –
My husband was really excited to receive these! Made well for the price and work nicely too!
J-Rod –
This is a review of using them for 3 years now. They’re great. I have had no issues with them so far. I’ve used them in many different types of terrains and have not had an issue. I’ve read a lot of reviews saying that the adjusting wheel is plastic and theyget cross threaded or break off but for me that is false. They are entirely metal and work perfectly fine. I don’t know if there was a change in design which made them plastic but I’m not sure. Buying 2 more right now for the wife.

Fantastic want to buy another 2 pac!!

This is my honest, just delivered, straight out of the box impression. Without trying these babies out on a fishing trip my first impression is that these are of excellent quality. When I came across these ground spike rod holders I liked the design but was concerned that the top portion where the pole rests was going to be plastic but it is not. With the exception of the plastic side screw that holds the ground spike and the rod holder together, the rest of it is made of a heavy duty metal. For the price point (and getting a pair of rod holders and not just one) the quality is impressive. I gave 4 stars since I have not tried them out yet but I will update my review after I have taken them out.UPDATE:: I took these out this afternoon to test them out and my rating has gone from a 4 star to a 5 star. They performed well, were exactlyWhat I imagined, and was super easy to adjust them as I needed too (both the angle and the direction). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I was going to purchase a rigging for ground fishing that would have cost me around $150 but then I found these. I feel they are comparable and so much more affordable!
Amazon Customer –
Sturdy and well built. Holds rod securely.
JSiz&BMitch –
Perfect for trophy catfishing from the bank! Very nice design.
S. Hawthorne –
This item arrived a few days ago and I just got time to open it. I gave it a shot out in the back yard to see how it would work. It feels very solid, holds the rod securely. Can’t wait to go fishing and put them to the test, may order another set.
Kareltry –
Good service here. Company offered a replacement for the broken one.One broke on the first fishing trip.Impossible to keep pole upright. You can control the direction but not the incline.
Dennis Bland –
Very nice construction, the only piece that is plastic is the head to a screw to connect the holder to the ground stakes. I would guess these will last for a very long time. The only thing that bugs me – and it’s not a real serious problem – is that you can lock the angle where your rod tip cannot fall farther down, but there’s nothing to stop it from tipping backwards except the weight of your rod – which means when you take your rod out, it’ll tip backwards, and when you put your rod in the weight will hold it down. It makes it a little more complicated putting your rod in/taking it out, but overall it’s not much of a problem.
All Country Construction –
this was a good purchase for me. I live on the river and they work great for me . I leave them in the ground all the time
Rick D –
These are QUALITY. No brainer
Jeff Carter –
I have been used to rod holders which are mounted on my kayak. On these, I set the angle of the rod holder (top piece) and it stays there all the time. With these, when I take the rod out, the holder rotates to straight up (rod tip toward sky if you put it back in the holder and left it that way). Took a minute to get used to this but since replacing the rod in the holder returned it to the desired angle, all is well. All parts are metal and very sturdy.
Doc –
Well made, easy to use
Ryan M. –
This is a nice sturdy bank fishing rod holder. I like how the design helps in setting the hook by allowing the rod to rotate backwards and naturally move as you would move a rod to set the hook. The people that have given these rod holders a bad review seem to not understand how they are supposed to work (hey, no worries you were probably tired from just getting home from work when you first opened the package; trust me I know the feeling). Anyway, I commented the following on one of the recent negative reviews:The knob is not designed to lock the actual rod holder into place; once you adjust the knob to set your rod’s stationary angle and place the rod into the rod holder, the design is such that the weight of your rod and reel keeps your rod at the stationary angle. The element that rests on the knob is shaped so that your rod and reel will stay at the set angle and not rotate forward. This feature is actually quite nice because it allows the actual rod holder to rotate back. When you get a bite you don’t have to grab the rod and pull it forward and out of the rod holder like many rod holders do; you can grab your rod and pull it back which could potentially help in setting the hook. Haven’t had a chance to give it many tries but so far so good.
Jeff –
Haven’t used yet but setup in yard, adjusts easy enough and seems sturdy.
mike –
Works well
sc1282 –
These little rod holders are great. I use taller ones most of the time however, if I am trying to conserve weight and space, I take these. I have used baitcasters and spinners on these rod holders
kevin stansick –
A simple setup which makes fishing much more enjoyable. The dual prongs are execllant for penetrating the tough ground where I fish. The only take-away is that the height is not adjustable. I recommend.
Ian –
Very nice, and much more sturdy then past rod holders I have had. Only giving them 4 stars because they don’t fold, if you want them to for storage. Takes one second to take it apart though
donnie fletcher –
Ordered two about a month ago, so pleased,I ordered two more, got them yesterday. Great product and fast shipping, will order again if need be

Amazon Customer –
My 16 month old loves it. He dances right along with him!
Tyra Reynolds –
great product easy to use and sturdy
mike c. –
This is really a step up from the steel pipe sections I used to weld back in the day!! Very light, easy to pack and lots of customizable positions to set for your rods. I just got them so I cant speak to longevity or holding up against strong current or fish but they worked fantastic for walleye on the river during spawn.
James M. –
I bought these holders because of the swivel and angle adjustment. The angle adjust would not lock into place and would just fall. I knocked the rivets out and ran a 6mm tap through the hole and drilled the holder hole to 7mm placing a 6mm bolt in place of the rivet. Works great! I am pleased with the overall product
Chasity –
The product is great!! Perfect for any fishing!! The holders are adjustable and very easy to get out of the holder when you get a bite. The holders are a little heavy but makes it very sturdy for if you have a big fish and you don’t have to worry about losing your poles.
Zac S. –
Good value
Cory –
Great fishing rod holder, I only wish there was an option for a longer base. With this base your rod is really close to the ground and if the shore is steep you can’t use it. An option for double or triple the length of the metal base would yield 5 stars.
Jason Brown –
As described and works as you would envision.
Nanasworld –
I have just recently started fishing. These poles work great. They are sturdy and if the ground isn’t like cement they are fairly easy to place in the ground. If I knew of anyone who needed rod holders I would tell them to buy these. I love them
Samuel Webb –
real nice!, thank you
Charlie –
Easy to setup and very well built.
Michelle a –
Easy setup. Would be nice if they were taller.
Aurelian Sava –
Great buy. Very sturdy and easy to use.

Works well, nice and sturdy
susan zuber –
The Coolnice Rod Holders are great to take the grandson fishing and not have to worry about the rod falling into the water. This is an awesome value!!
Joey & Tabbie –
These pole holders work great.. Easy to adjust and essy to put into the ground even on a ruff surface.. We ordered two sets so four total and it said we would get 2 lures with each set.. And wr didn’t receive any with either set we bought.. Which sucked.. We were excited for that.. But overall the pole holders work wonders..! We would have gave 5 star if we received the bonus lures as well.. Like it shows on the add..
B. Williams –
These rod holders are good quality. They are very sturdy. I took them out for a day of bank fishing. I was able to drive them into the ground in relatively hard soil. I was able to set the angle that I wanted. They worked great.
Sang Pham –
Looks pretty good and high quality
Randall W. Rasner –
I bought these and finally got to try them after a couple of weeks. I bought them mainly to use at the river. There might be times that I use them at a lake or pond. The good: They were as described and I received them in good order and quickly. They were not difficult to set up as there’s not a lot of parts to them or anything intricate to understand about how they work. The prongs are easily inserted into the ground, or in river fishing at times it’s sand or sand/dirt mixture.I like that the angle of the holder can be adjusted and that the angle can be locked in so that when you return your fishing rod to the holder, it returns to the angle that you chose. They are easy to carry in to your location, hence the shorter prongs I suppose. They seem sturdy for the most part. They are reasonably priced. The bad: The prongs are too short in the cases where you must insert them all the way in order for them to firmly retain your rod/reel should a larger fish get hooked on your line while you are busy baiting another line or tending to other gear. When fishing in sandy areas, muddy areas or even a complete sandbar, one must angle the holder backwards when you place it into the “ground”. They are pretty sufficient in holding when inserted in more solid ground. The adjustment rings (don’t know what to call them other than that) are made of plastic. One of my holders’ rings has already cross-threaded just from the force of the rod pushing down on the ring due to the river’s current pulling the rod somewhat. River fishermen will know what I am talking about here. I cannot get the ring to move now and since it is plastic, I am afraid to use a tool and/or too much force to try to correct the cross threading. So, one of my holders is stuck at this angle already.Summary: I probably would purchase these again or purchase an additional set in case I want to fish more than two lines at a time or if someone goes with me. I hope that the seller reads these reviews and maybe consider using metal adjustment rings and perhaps offering some with longer prongs as an option.
Derek A –
I do not want to rate these as 5 stars, that seems inadequate! I had a catfish that was pushing 20 pounds pulling hard on my rod after I forgot to losen my drag and this rod holder didn’t budge! I wasn’t overly optimistic for them given the price for 2 of them but I could not be more impressed! “You get what you pay for” does not apply here AT ALL! They are an absolute must buy for fishermen who bank fish!2 years of use updated. So I’ve had these for 2 years and I’m still saying solid 5 stars with no hesitation. I’ve used these more times than I can count and no issues. Forgot to set my drag, had a 12ish pound catfish run with my line, pulling hard and the rod didn’t budge a bit in the holder and those solid spokes didn’t move. Now as other people have said, it will not go into solid ground, but by that I mean it has to be very hard packed or very rocky to not go in. And in that situation I don’t think there’s a rod holder made that will go in, so people that knock it for that are nuts. So go ahead and buy them!
RJA12 –
This is a great pair of rod holders for freshwater bank fishing. They are sturdy built and very functional. The reviews complaining about them not being adjustable is unfounded. At first glance they appear to not hold angle adjustments but when a rod and reel is mounted they keep the rod at the desired angle.
this protector os very bad –
Good for carp fishing
Amazon Curstomer –
Just what was needed.
donald28625 –
They are easy to put together and fits in your tackle box works on small and large rods
Gary Hodges –
Great design and very sturdy. Absolutely worth the money.
Brian –
Simple construction and takes apart so I can transport it easily.
Juan Cuadra –
The rod holders work perfect you can put your rods with confidence
katie Disbennett –
Easy to get the rod out of it when having a bite. Very sturdy. Will buy more
Nathan Fournier –
When I bought these, I was concerned that the black holder parts were made from plastic and could become fragile over time. To my surprise, the whole thing was made from metal and didn’t feel cheap at all. I highly recommend them if you often fish from shore.
GreenMachine –
Frees up your hands
Calvin D. Wall –
Works great, sturdy and the rod is easy to remove when needed. Love it.
Chunk –
I love these holders! Sturdy and adjustable to any situation I’ve had this far. My only wish is that they were a little taller.
Dave8563 –
The coolnice fishing rod holders are a good buy. They assemble easily and work as advertised.
Frog –
Strong and sturdy, love it
Archie D Roudybush III –
Excellent product
Adam –
These are much better than I expected they feel good and sturdy and I was tired of pole holders that only hold your Rod straight up or too flat these give me the option to move around and try to keep a decent angle so the pull doesn’t load too fast.
Spencer –
A surprise gift for my husband. I’m sure he will love it.However:He had questions that I could not answer and there were no instructions in the pkg.
Roger –
compact in size, easy set up, does the job
R. W. –
Works well, but you can’t adjust the angle.
Devin –
I’ve put these things to the test bank fishing. Had em almost 3 months now fishing nearly every weekend and then some. They put your rod out at a great angle I’d say 10â€?5° if the pole holder is straight in the ground. They seem really sturdy and will not fall apart on you. Just not that great if the dirt is super rocky. But you can just prop them up with a bunch of big rocks and boom problem solved. I give 9/10 highly recommend if you got like 16 bucks or whatever to spend on some nice pole holders
Jack –
I like that they work, hold the rod, different angles, and easy to clean off the pegs. Trout fishing made easy.
Wesley McAlister –
Awesome. Best rod holders I’ve bought ever
Michael Lee –
Useful and good value
Joe G –
Not as adjustable as described. Appears to be sturdy enough, will keep but will also look for a different product.
Kayaking Source –
I was a little worried that it was too short, but I was very surprised. My rods easily fit into the holder and stayed strong. It went easily intocthe ground. The one thing I dont like is thT uou cant really adjust the angle, but I will live with that. I purchased two and will buy more.Great buy.
Kim –
This is good for bank fishing. Very sturdy and easy to use
ByronL Jones –
Like it
Hunter Figueroa –
for 10 dollars a piece these rod holders are great! I previously used the orange coil rod holders that you can get for like 2 bucks but i got new catfish rods and they didn’t fit, for any rods really these are great. They are a bit hard to get in the ground if there are any pebbles or anything in the ground so what i like to do is take the top of and bang on the metal with a rock to get it in the ground. one problem i have with these is the give, i usually have it set at the diagonal setting and it goes almost horizontal but other than that i HIGHLY RECOMMEND these.
Randy P. –
Awesome product! Works well with my big catfish poles! Highly recommend!
Erik Morgan –
Can’t get any better for this style of rod holders. You can tighten everything down and it won’t move, or you can loosen the bottom but so the fish can swivel your rod, if you’re right lining and are walking away. No complaints!
Cast Daddy –
Work great! Stakes don’t get muddy which is awesome
Ninkasi –
All parts are metal and together snug; not a lot of wiggling. It is honestly better than I was expecting and will work for each of my rod types. Definitely recommend purchasing this product if you are looking for a rod holder. Very fairly priced also.
saltiman –
Havent used them yet but seem fairly sturdy especially considering the price, nice range in angle adjustment planning on use them to hold my catfish rig while i keep fishing for bass or panfish
Tcul1972 –
I bought these almost 2 years ago. I have only been using one of the two for Catfishing in my back yard but it has been in the ground and never removed since the day I got it and it is still just as good as the day I bought it. Rain, sleet, snow and even a tropical storm!! I am actually going to start using the other one tonight since I just bought a second catfish rig :)
KD –
These are really nice. Heavy duty. Easier to put into the ground. Collapsible for East storage. Much nicer than the cheap spiral ones.
SinLoc –
Very impressive this item work like a champ! They stay in place once you place your rod in them to counter balance the weight. You can adjust the angle by twisting the mechanism below.
Amazon User –
I have gone through many similar products (mostly store bought with limited options) but this has finally been an affordable and durable option to shoreline fishing. I couldn’t ask for more for the price. I just hammer this in to the soil with my camping hatchet, tighten the rod holder to the angle I want, and I am set.
Henry –
Very well made, simple to use and will last a long time. Great bang for your buck!
Steven S. –
I originally purchased a Berkeley rod holder the was less in price than this set. I was wrong. The Berkeley only goes vertical and with these you can change the angle. The Berkeley couldn’t fit my bigger rods, catfish, or saltwater rods. I purchased this set and it’s worth the few extra bucks to be able to use on all rods. Great product.
Amazon Customer –
Sure beats trying to find a stick to hold my poles up. Very sturdy, easy to use, and perfect for what I was looking for. Can’t beat the price either.
Preston –
Very easy to insert into any soil type! Held up to some Carp and Catfishing just fine.
Marijan –
Works as intended.
Fred G. –
They are sturdy, simple to use and reliable.
Kailey –
Perfect for bank fishing. I got these for my fiancé and we use them for night fishing catfish and they even hold up his bigger catfish pole with a heavier reel. They adjust the angle of the poles to whatever height we need. They make fishing way easier than him trying to find sticks or using a bent car antenna… good buy.
Thomas –
These rod holders are by far the best I’ve seen. Perfect for rocky shore, like rocky sand. Tough ground isn’t a problem, bc these holders have steaks made of solid metal. As a matter of fact, the entire holder is made of metal, except for a rubber coating on the back of the mount, so it doesn’t scrape your rod (like a gripping). The steaks are a foot long, meaning plenty of room to push it far into the ground for stability. Seriously, these are high quality rod holders. I’ve used them for trout fishing, AND carp fishing. Yes, they even work well with big rods. Adjustments on the angle of the holder are super easy to make, simply by cranking a ring. I would definitely recommend. I was on the fence about buying due to some poor reviews, but I wasn’t disappointed. Two for this price of these high quality holders, that adjust even, is the absolute best deal you’ll find. They would be a great gift, too.
Reuben –
They work n sturdy
Michael8899 –
These are pretty badass. Mostly metal construction even parts i originally thought were plastic in the pics. Arrived yesterday and today i caught a 7pd flathead catfish. I was firther from the pole then i should have been and the rod got a lot of action but the holder held very well.
zoran –
I love it great product
TheBendu –
My second pair. Very sturdy, all metal design. The rear holder bar is also covered in a plastic, keeping my rod handles in good shape. As long as you’re able to get them into semi solid ground, you’re golden. I’ve also extended mine. I’ve added 2 foot pieces of rebar to each leg to increase the height. Great bank rod holder..
Amazon Customer –
For the cheap price the product is fine
Raymond Wheeler –
Exactly as described
Chris T. –
Arrived on time. Great product, sturdy and worth the price. Will be giving them a test this week. Tried in the back yard and works great
allen seymour –
Another fisherman showed me how they worked and where he obtained his so of course I had to order mine. They came and have met all expectations.
Bill –
Loved the sturdy construction, light weight & the way they worked for catching fish from the bank
Brad Newhook –
Was worried we have pretty large fishing rods but they stood up to the test. I love the fact that they are all metal.
Bell –
Lack of height adjustment, hard to fix the angle.
Ryan –
These are very helpful for River/shore fishing. Decent quality and easy to use.
Jason –
This thing is awesome, I love it.It is really well build, the spikes are real steel. It has the option of taking the rod holder part off so you can pound the spikes into the ground, which I found VERY heipful because the ground where I was fishing was hardAnd for the price I got two, what a deal
cris –
I honestly havent used them yet but checking the quality they seem to be sturdy and will put it to the test someday and update with how they performed.
Vinnie –
Have dozed off a couple of times (Ha Ha) and woke up to find the rod has been tipped and there is a fish fighting on the other end. I love them. Only drawback not good in very rocky ground areas.
ILIUTA CANTARAGIU –
nice support
Anthony Martin –
Needed them for a family fishing trip they worked like they was supposed to so glad I purchased
Tony –
Ok
Mr. Mike –
Excellently made rod holder.Easy screw to tighten desired angle of rod. This holder will disassemble for compact storage. The pointed ends allow for easy, sturdy entry into shoreline.
Lester Galiza –
Very easy to use. Wish it could go more vertical but other than that it’s a really great pole holder.
Ricky D –
Good value for the money!
Tracy Moreira –
These are much better made than the ones i got at Wal-Mart. Sturdy and holds my favorite fishing rod without me worrying its going to fall out
Tyler herrod –
Love ut
Michael herrera –
I liked that they were solid and not plastic. Buy you can tighten then and then they are wobbly again. I wish they wouldn’t move so much. And it would be nice if they had a little more open layout to set the rods on.
Elmer J. –
Easy to pack, easy to carry, well built and most importantly they work. Ice used sticks or large stones to hold up rods whilenusing live bait before but this makes it easier and more secure.
Dustyclamper –
These rod holders are excellent! I enjoy stream fishing the most but when I’m on a lake sitting in a nice comfortable chair these are odd holders are a perfect fit for that. I would suggest getting them as soon as possible as they are well built and sturdy 👍
Kyle –
Does what it needs to do
Melissa –
Hubby said they work great. Took a min to get it set up right. But once done it worked perfect. No he sadly didn’t catch a fish but there is always next time.
Amazon Customer –
Works fine
Dreadhead –
This rod holder is what I have been looking for. I love them.
Mordas Vyacheslav –
A good rod holder. Able to hold even a big heavy rod. Recommended
Thomas W. Ague –
I love these holders. They are pretty sturdy, inexpensive, and the two stake design holds the ground pretty well. The other nice thing about these is that the rear bar that holds the rod grip has a big enough opening to take thicker handles. I have a couple rods with a rubber cap on the end of the handle and they won’t fit in the little coiled stake type holders. They really fit the bill for me.
JPayne –
I would’ve gave this product 5 stars had it not of came apart on me while pushing into the ground. When trying to put it back together I cut my hand open pretty good as it’s not easy to flex the metal to reinsert into the holes. I circled in red where it can come apart. I’ll probably apply jb weld to the inside to keep it from ever coming apart again but other than that they get the job done
Mario –
Gadget facile à utiliser
Mander –
These are great. Feels heavy and sturdy. The angle adjustment is hard to get tight with bare hands, and there’s a little wiggle. Don’t keep the rod parallel to the ground, or risk the rod popping out. The largest fish I caught was 12.5, and it held fine. Two for $20-something is a great deal.
Kindle Customerdonald duck –
Loved it. Easy to set up
Amazon Customer –
Usefur
Fred Manzanares –
Work great. Keeps my rod secure and clean while I bank fish.
Blake –
Feels cheap, but to my surprise it holds up nicely. I used a rock to pound it into the ground (not recommended) and it sat very still. Great for the price, and easy to set up.
Slade –
Really love these. Very sturdy. Perfect.
Amazon Customer –
Pleasantly surprised by the quality
scott lavin –
works great easy to adjust easy to put into groind
Rich –
These are tough steel, easy to stick in hard ground. Excellent fit holding rods I use..
Spider –
Hold the fishing rod firmly and easy to maneuver
James Peebler –
I am able to fit two in the tackle box and they hold well. A good way to keep large fish from making off with your pole.
Tyler D –
great rod holder it is also all metal i though it was going to be plastic but i was surprised it is all metal good quality works great and good deal for 2
Memloss –
this is what i needed. and im satisfied
Prof CAH –
These rod holders are nicely made and easy to transport in my tackle bag. The two prong design allows for easy insertion into almost any type of ground. They assemble and disassemble easily and seem to be very well made. Only two drawbacks: one is there are NO instructions on how to use them/set them up; it’s not hard to figure out but some diagram wold have helped. The second is that once disassembled they have two pointed metal tips on each that can poke you or things in what you carry them in. I will eventually put some type of rubber tubing over them for transport. These are recommended if you like to bank fish.
